Former alumni of the PPGBot

The profile of the future Master of Science (MSc) is that of a profesional capable of teaching Botany classes, propose and execute research projects, and to academically guide graduate students in the research lines of their dissertation projects. The profile of the future Doctor (PhD) is that of a scientist capable of teaching graduate and postgraduate Botany classes and to propose and execute research projects in the lines of research pertinent to his/her thesis. Additionally, considering the large number of former alumni active (temporarily or not) in teaching undergraduate subjects in both public and private institutions, another objective emerges: that of stimulating the scientific spirit, practical nature conservancy and the enthusiasm for biological sciences (especially Botany) during the academic internship.

By 2024, the PPGBot was responsible for 494 succesful Masters of Science (MSc) and 133 Doctors (PhD). Approximately 75% of those ex-pupils are currently employed at public Universities and Institutions, and some private academic institutions, in several Brazilian States, working as faculty and/or researchers (e.g. [Brazilian acronyms]: UFPE, UFBA, UFPA, UFSC, UFRGS, UFG, UFOPA, UFF, UFRRJ, UFMG, FIOC, UFJF, UFRN, UEL, IPJBRJ, UFMG) and, abroad (University of North Carolina, Wilmington). These can be cited as institutions which employed ex PPGBot alumni, highlighting the quality of the professionals forged in the domain of this group of researchers.
